Hi JSS3 -
I applied and was approved for a Chase Freedom on March 20th. Exactly 7 days later, I applied for the Slate and received the 7-10 message. Still haven't received a decision. But in answer to your question, Chase pulled TWICE, even though the apps were exactly one week apart. I called their recon number to see if I could get the second HP removed and they flat out said no. I asked why they would do 2 hard pulls within a week. His smart answer: We don't know what could happen in a week. Duh. I have my $300,000 mortgage with you for years. There was no reason for them to pull twice. He told me to take it up with the CRA. Is this guy for real? If I had known it would be a 3nd HP, I wouldn't have applied for the Slate card.
Good luck with your apps!
I applied for the Freedom on 3/19 and was instantly approved. Then, applied for the Slate on 3/30 and was sent to the verification Dpt just to make sure there was no fraud involved. I verified my identity by answering a few questions and was immediately approved. Then on 4/6 I applied for the Chase Marriott and was told that Chase's policy is no more than 3 apps within a 30 day period. Oops. So my app was put on hold until the 31st day.
I apped for my freedom and state same day and got approved for both on one pull. I will say they double pulled though.

Can you clarify this? If you got approved for both on one pull then what do you mean by they double pulled?

How many days should I space out the apps so I can *possibly* get one pull AND not get the, "Needs further review" the back-to-back apps usually see?
I recently applied for Chase Marriott and was approved, then 3 days later applied for the CSP and was approved. Only one HP for both. They used EQ.
Now when I applied for the Freedom in December it was a double hp. They pulled EX and TU, but was approved. You never know who they'll pull!

I guess they pulled 2 CRAs and used the same for both cards. Chase sometimes single pull (1 CRA) others double pull (2 CRA).
I have read people that applied for 2 cards and in the end got 4 pulls (2 in each CRA pulled).
5 Chase for me, 5 HP although they were all spaced out.
1 CLI HP thru EO.
It was a free for all back then but nowadays I'm more conservative with my HPs and probably wouldn't consider a HP for CLI ![]()
