Re: FYI: You Can Request CLI on GM Personal Mastercard

THANK YOU!!!! I've been waiting literally a year for this, and to know it's a sp is the cherry on top. I got an increase! DP, the direct credit limit increase link disappeared for me after I got the increase, but one can still access it via the credit terms link right below that. Also, there's a link titled Learn More About Credit Limit Increases or something similar directly on the CLI screen that explains so much regarding what they look at for CLI's.

This is great @RehabbingANDBlabbing ,

exactly what a GS/Marcus rep >> [had told me a few months back.]

Imagine that, a CSR was rightSmiley LOL

I have only had the card since 08-17-2022

So I would imagine it will be the 6 month mark!

Requesting Second CLI- GM Rewards

I know this is a niche topic, but I hope it helps someone else. When requesting a CLI on the GM Rewards CC, they have a little link during the process that's basically a CLI FAQ. One of their comments state you can immediately request a second CLI after the first, but it'll probably just be reviewed. Cool.

I got a CLI on the 24th, and then immediately requested another because why not, it's a soft pull. I was presented with a screen stating, "Your credit line increase request is currently in review. You will receive a response in 3-5 business days. We may contact you if we need additional information." Cool.

So, I reached out after 5 business days and was told it can take up to 10. Cool. I reached out after 3 full weeks (aka more than 10 business days, not counting holidays and weekends) and was told, "The reason it is still pending is if you were already approved for a credit limit increase you can not reapply for 90 days." Cool.

That's a-okay, but, from these interactions, I wanted to let anyone else know that if you do request a second CLI, you will probably receive a "we'll contact you in 3-5 days" message, but you will not be contacted. What you will see is that message continuously, most likely, for the next (up to) 90 days, until you're actually eligible for review.

I asked the lady that told me the 90 days if I was ever going to receive a response then if I wasn't eligible, and she basically said idk.

I created this to be informative but thank y'all for seemingly let me have a mini rambley rant.

HOPE THIS HELPS lol

Re: Requesting Second CLI- GM Rewards

Update for anyone following: As many know, it all depends on the representative you get assistance from. A couple of nights later, I pretty much played stupid, (and they probably thought I was losing it if they could see my previous chat from prior) asking the same question, more or less.

She said I should have definitely had a response within 10 business days, and, since I hadn't received one, she alerted a manager about it. I had an official response within 3 hours. Didn't get a second increase. Reason? I just got one and have to wait 90 days. Lol! I figured but I was amused that my request stayed "stuck" in pending until I found a knowledgeable rep then *boom*, problem solved.

Has anyone with a personal GM Card been able to get a CLI?

I called and he said you can only do it online and it is located under "Useful links" but when I go there it is not there... does that mean my account is not old enough or does not qualify or did this gentleman not know?!

Re: GM Card CLI Possible?

Did you request the CLI or was it automatic?

Also, if you don't mind sharing, what was your SL? Hopefully that could give us an idea as it relates to a percentage.

Finally, this card seems to be all over the place with the SL as some people get far more generous approvals than others. Even those approvals themselves don't seem so clear cut. I'd really like to know what factors into their creditworthiness decisions.

Open Accounts: AMEX Platinum Card: NPSL • AMEX Gold Card: NPSL • PayPal Cashback World Mastercard: $24K • NFCU More Rewards AMEX: $23K • NFCU Platinum Visa: $23K • NFCU Visa Signature Flagship Rewards Card: $20K • Fidelity Rewards Visa Signature Card: $15K • Bread 2% Cashback AMEX: $11,650 • U.S. Bank Altitude Go Visa Signature Card: $10K • Verizon Visa Signature Card: $10K • Amazon Prime Store Card (Synchrony Bank): $10K • Discover it Miles: $9.5K • AAA Visa Signature (Daily Advantage) Card: $6.7K • Discover it Cash Back: $6.5K • Target Circle Mastercard (AU): $6K • PayPal Credit (Synchrony Bank): $5,650 • Dell Pay Credit: $5.5K • Truist Bank Future Visa Card: $5K • My GM Rewards Mastercard: $4.5K • GS Apple Card: $3,250 • Capital One Savor Mastercard: $3.1K • AMEX Blue Cash Preferred (BCP): $3K • Kohl’s Card: $3K • Merrick Bank Double Your Line MasterCard: $2.5K • AMEX Blue Cash Everyday (BCE): $1.3K • AMEX Delta SkyMiles Blue Card: 1.1K

Open Loans: BestEgg Personal Loan (Signature): $22,000 @ 16.15% • Capital One Auto Loan: $9,358 @ 9.78%

Closed Accounts: Target RedCard (Please sir, may I have some more? NO!) • AMEX Delta SkyMiles Cards (Platinum, Gold, & Blue) Various PCs • Walmart Rewards Mastercard (EOL, PC to Capital One Savor Mastercard) • Mercury Mastercard (APR hit 34.24%! Ouch!) • Tomo Visa Signature Card (Low SL/CL, High APR!) • Ollo Platinum MasterCard (Subprime, Low SL/CL, High APR!) • Upgrade Card (Low SL/CL, High APR!) • Aspire MasterCard (Subprime, “Account closed due to inactivity!”) • Various Capital One Cards (Platinum, QuicksilverOne, Quicksilver, & SavorOne) (Buckets!!!)
