I have been trying to get in with Citi, AMEX and Discover. I have come along way since October of last year with a pitiful 570 credit score. I have gotten my TU clear and had my Experian clear but two previously removed satistified judgements popped back on my file. My Equifax listed the same two there and a paid collection. I do have a several new accounts and AAoA is about a year across the board. My utilization is about 12% and I do have several recent inquires in the last 6 months. Citi seems to not care about the baddies on there as they are over 6 years old but they seems to frown at the inquires. Discover is denying for derogs, inqs and recent accounts, AMEX is recent account, account age and inquires.
I figure that I can garden for about 6 months to a year and be in good shape for instants with AMEX and Citi, but Discover seems to be the most picky of the three mentioned. Any advice for them?
You have at least 6 new credit cards this month, 5 last month, 1 two months ago and 2 three months ago. And those are just the cards in your signature... All those new cards, all those Inquiries (and some applications may ave pulled multiple credit bureaus), plus all the inquiries for cards that you applied for and were denied...
You have obtained more credit cards in 4 months than I have in 40 months. And that includes cards that I've already closed.
With a large number of cards being from this month, and most of the rest from last month, you probably shouldn't be applying for anything for at least 12 months. And be very selective on what you apply for from now on.
I wouldnt be at all surprised if Barclays closes your $500 account from last month, once they see you opened at least 6 cards after theirs with over $33k in additional credit , plus IF they see the multiple negatives re-appearing on your credit reports. Same with Chase and the two $500 credit limit cards they gave you. It doesn't look good if you open lots of credit accounts and then creditors start closing accounts as well.
Theman,
I appeciate your advice but first off you don't know anything about my situation other than what is in my signature. Second, I run enough thru those cards about 1k to 2 a month min and PIF, that those accounts are not going anywhere. As I stated before, I am not going to app or get any new credit for at least 12 months.
You are certainly entitled to your opinion but frankly your inflammatory comments are not welcome or wanted. Please take that elsewhere.

Themanwhocan wasn't being inflammatory. He was giving you unbiased advice and was being realistic. Themanwhocan has quite a reputation on this forum for being one of the most (if not the most) level-headed, reeasonable, and objectively analytical posters. Half of his posts are graphs and charts that mathematically prove people wrong about their preconceived notions of the rewards of their credit cards -- politely, of course.
Themanwhocan (nor anybody else for that matter) does not need a complete picture of your credit report to know that the aggressive credit seeking behavior you've exhibited in the last few months looks risky to creditors, no matter what the rest of your profile looks like. I would heed Themanwhocan's advice to the letter -- since you are treading on very thin ice with your profile, I would avoid all new apps for a year until those inquiries and new accounts have a chance to age. I would also avoid any behavior that would result in a CSR from one of your lenders manually reviewing any of your reports for awhile (like a request for a SP CLI with a CSR), since that might draw even more attention to your reports than their computer systems.
I agree with Themanwhocan. Stop applying and garden. You have more cards than I do and you got all these rather quickly .. That looks concerning to creditors. And nothing that he said was in anyway rude or offensive. He is being honest and trying to look out for you. I think you need to garden and let your accounts age, don't apply for anything else right now.

I don't think how much you put on your cards matters. You have several new inquiries and accounts. As I said nothing that was said was offensive.
Ok. I am willing to conceed and eat crow here.
Sorry Theman. I guess I was reacting to the fact that it was risky and you called me on it and didn't want to admit it.
I agree with you all and hope I have not done damage to my developing file. I will avoid any other activity for at least a year if not more. I appeciate all the everyone's advice and I wil take it to heart.
