Hello!
I am currently preparing to apply for the Chase Sapphire Reserve card.
My current scores are 765 (Experian)/768 (from my BoA credit card and TransUnion).
My current income is $55,000 a year.
I have a BoA travel rewards card with a 5,000 limit and currently utilize 20%. Last year I took our a personal loan for $4,000 to help with my fiance having lost his job at the time. I pay it off every month and have NEVER missed a payment for anything I've had open.
Decent oddds for being approved?
I have student loans but they're on hold while I'm in grad school. The BoA card I've had for two years. Never missed a payment and always paid WAY more than the minimum.
The CSR has a minimum account limit of $10K, and Chase generally does not like to be your first account with a high limit.
I think your profile looks good. I'm assuming you've not had many inquiries in the past two years. Scores are solid and payment history is excellent. How long has your BOA been open?
This is just my personal opinion but I've been approved for some cards I didn't think I'd get in with (Citi TY Premier and USBank Cash+ VS) but apparently these companies liked my profile. In all honesty, unless your AAoA is less than 2 years, I think your odds are fair-to-good. The only other recommendation I might suggest is look at your overall UTI. The BOA is at 20% but with the loan what is the UTI on your credit profile. Definitely a good thing to try and get the UTI to 10% or less, especially when applying for a very exclusive card like CSR.
Best of luck!
Also, I'm curious: are you planning on app'ing online, phone, or in person at a Chase branch?
I applied online. I also have my car loan which has been paid every month on timne. I believe I have e about 8k left.
If you haven’t apped yet, I would do this:
Request a CLI from BOA, hopefully over $10k.
Then, if approved
Maeve a small change in your address in your online profile with them, or change your phone number, and change it back the next day. This will trigger an update to the CRAs
Wait another day, and then app with (hopefully) BOA showing your new, higher limit
