Getting the itch-TU up to 711

Got an alert my TU score went up to 711 today. (FICO 8) This is not helping my itch. Marvel MasterCard maybe?

I do have one collection still. It is 6years and 8months old. Tried disputing back in Aug as too old to be on file but it came back verified. I don't want to try again because EQ reached it last month. It tanked my EQ FICO down to 598. Still don't know how to fix that.

Needless to say..: any other TU ideas?
Util is under 5%.
Income isn't a problem.
Inq's are high tho most are over 6 mo old. Total is 40-last 6 mo is 5. Last year is 18. So 22 of them are over a year old.

Prefer a cash or point card. Don't travel enough to make a miles card beneficial unless they never expire.
That I would be open to.

Currently have Discover, Barclays, CapOne, US Bank. Plus 4 store cards)

Chase is out as I am over the 5/24 rule and they pull EX for me.

TIA.

Check out a PayPal MasterCard they offer a tiered points earning for cash... just be aware it's 6,000 points for $50. If you don't like that Marvel is a good option too.

TU 711 and EQ 598

Why not sit on the bench a little while longer until things are spotless.  I'm trying to decipher if the EQ drop was because the dirt aged off or if they renewed the claim.  There's nothing wrong with sitting on the bench and collecting more info from other posts while aging your current accounts.  Actually sitting out will do you more good than apping for something else you don't really need.  I usually round up the usual suspects and hit them for CLI's when I'm tempted to app for something and that pays off more since it's usually a SP and grows your foundation of available credit.  I know the app itch is like a relapse on heroin but you have to stay committed.

It's from the age. Now my account says Last Updated: aug 2016 and that was when the score dropped. (Also CCt's Time since negative item went from 79 months to less than one month when this happened

And yes, I know there is nothing wrong with waiting and smart to collect info from other posts, hence the reason I have been on here along with another forum for the past 18 mo.

So, instead of just updating it as valid it triggered a re-age which hurts.  What's the SOL on it?  Hopefully it is still scheduled to drop off in a short time.  I think fighting it will get it knocked off at the right time or sooner though.

It's past SOL-5 years for me.
You would dispute again or send a letter about it re-ageing or what? I'm all up for suggestions. It's the only negative left for me on TU & EQ both so I would love it gone. Smiley Happy

Re: Getting the itch-TU up to 711

I would dispute it again and if it reappears follow up with a letter most likely to get rid of it permanently.  I don't keep up with the whole SOL part of it anymore but I thought it was 7 years but suppose it could be 5 years based on your location.  If it's a small amount and wants to linger maybe do a PFD on it.

Yes-SOL it is based on what state you live in. Negative items can stay on your report for 7 or 10 years though. I just can't be sued anymore since it is out of SOL.

I'll try a dispute as obsolete again and if not maybe I can find a letter about re-aging and send that off. I wish I knew if it would still fall off in 4 months even with it listed the way it is-I would leave it if I knew it would. Better to wait and poke the dragon IMO. But it pisses me off it re-aged. Not cool. So this really has be going back and forth.

Thx for the opinion.

I have to ask, was the item 6 years, 8 months from DoFD (Date of First Delinquency)? Also, EQ will generally remove items 3 months early from the day that the item is 7 years from DoFD.
