Yes-SOL it is based on what state you live in. Negative items can stay on your report for 7 or 10 years though. I just can't be sued anymore since it is out of SOL.
I'll try a dispute as obsolete again and if not maybe I can find a letter about re-aging and send that off. I wish I knew if it would still fall off in 4 months even with it listed the way it is-I would leave it if I knew it would. Better to wait and poke the dragon IMO. But it pisses me off it re-aged. Not cool. So this really has be going back and forth.
Thx for the opinion.
Unfortunately it is not unusual to see this happen when Collection Accounts are disputed. Your TL wasn't reaged (at least it doesn't sound as though it was from the info you provided) but rather updated. Any time you dispute a TL the furnisher can update the account. The updated information "can look" like new collection activity in the scoring models. Since Collection Accounts are serious derogatories, your score suffered. That's one of risks when you poke the bear and the bear is a Collection Account. BTW reaging an account is highly illegal. You can confirm the DOFD by contacting the CRA. Most success in having TL's excluded early starts at about 3 months before they are expected to age off.
