Going For Gold

For me the ultimate grail card for my spending and travel is the Amex Gold.  I am planning a family trip to Europe summer 2025 for my oldest sons graduation, so I am trying to get cards with really good subs and more geared for travel.  I have a some questions before I apply tomorrow:

1.  I have a Hilton Amex that I opened this past September.  Is it too early to apply for another Amex card?

2.  When I go into the Amex app to check my Fico score, I click offers and see the Amex Gold with a sub of 60k.  However when I check the Amex website at work, I see a sub of 90k.  Should I check the preapproval page and if they give me the 60k sub take it or bypass the preapproval page and try and get the 90k?

3.  Does Amex do a hard pull for a second card?  My scores actually have improved since I received the Hilton Amex.

I hate rejection lol, so I want to make sure I am in the best position to get approved.

1.  No it's not too early.

2.  You should only take the 90k MR's offer.

3.  Amex almost never does a hard pull if you already have an Amex card. (No guarantees, of course).

Re: Going For Gold

Well, I applied this morning and was approved!   I misread the welcome offer, it was you can get up to a 90k MR bonus. I signed into my Amex account at my office and said I was preapproved for a 60k MR offer.  I'll take it because it was not too long ago I was only able to get the Indigo credit card. What a journey its been the past two years.
