I would imagine you would be fine, profile dependant.
I actually did the reverse last month. I applied for membership and a card, which was approved. Then a week or so later, I needed to get a new car and was approved for an auto loan. The rate offered at the dealer was better, so I ended up doing the loan there instead. As an FYI, I received a HP for each application.
