Got my Capital One CLI today, not what I expected...

My six months in up today with Capital One so I applied for a CLI! Since I've been a customer for two years and spend over 1k a month I was hoping for a big one. Requested through the app and was offered an additional 3k, to make the total limit on my QuickSilver $6,000. I send them multiple payments a month to keep my utilization low and was hoping for at least a 7k increase which would take me to 10k for my Quicksilver.

Am I being ungrateful or do I deserve more? Does anyone here have any tips on how to get more? With this amount I'll still have to send payments 3-4 times a month, which will be very annoying.

Thanks in advance!

Re: Got my Capital One CLI today, not what I expected...

I have used my Venture as a primary card for 18 months and put around $2.5K to $3K on it.  Each of my 3 CLIs have also been $3K, which I am happy with.  However, my starting limit was $30K so I don't really need larger CLIs.  I am also curious to know if anyone has seen larger than $3K CLIs and monthly usage in comparison, but with your starting limit, I would be happy with the $3K.

Apply for a Venture card. Then move limits to QS in six months. Get the bonus while you're at it.

Re: Got my Capital One CLI today, not what I expected...

OP, you took your limit from $3k to $6k which is a 100% increase.  IMO, you should be happy with that.  That's the equivalent of taking a $10k limit to $20k.

A large majority of CLIs are only in the 15%-30% range, so you did fine here.

I had a $3k limit on my QS card and they gave me a $500 CLI (17%).  6 months later I got another $500 CLI (14%).

Now that is a creative idea I have yet to think of!

And I guess I'll be content with the 3k increase for now, thanks everyone.

Venture limits normally starts at $10k or higher. You did get a great CLI. It's not up to me to tell you what you need or don't need. I will point you in the direction of what you desire though. Lol

Good luck with the future CLI.

The limit on my QS1 is 4900 and I make 4500 payments several times a month and I got $250 this last time.

Re: Got my Capital One CLI today, not what I expected...

I'll be thrilled if I get a $3k increase!!! They usually give me $500 every 6 months. My other cards are WAY over my limit with them.

Thats a nice increase.  I like the idea of applying for Venture if you have no problem with 3 pulls.  Or why not app for a non CAP1 product and let QS breathe for a while!!
