Random question for those who may have the Apple card. I know its a MasterCard but is it a World/World Elite? Reason I ask is that at least if one gets stuck in a situation like this and don't want to immediately close the card then it can be useful for the cell phone protection maybe.
I know I'm reaching...just sucks to take the hit on points for an account being opened.
Yes, it is World Elite.

@blindambition Thanks for chiming in. I know it may not be of interest to the OP but if it's World Elite and does come with the MasterCard cell phone product then I guess there's something to be had there. Just really hate to see folks take an HP or ding in points due to a new accoun reporting and walk away with nothing. But I also understand that having a card that will never be able to take advantage of it's highest multiplier isn't something one would want to entertain. Just a sucky situation.
I honestly feel GS should scrap HP and remove account. The fact that they have no REAL solution for situation. There's a few hiccups in implementation being so tied to phone and specific Appleid.
OP made a mistake, but many people have multiple appleid. They should have accounted for this scenario at some point.
The other thing that comes to mind here are cases where someone's Apple ID MUST change, there have been cases of people's Apple ID's getting hacked, perhaps less so now that they have gone to 2FA so maybe less of a concern but there are cases where someone has to change their Apple ID. Seems really annoying to have to get a new card to add it to your phone if your Apple ID had to change for any reason.
For the OP, it sounds like the additional benefits are important for wanting the card, I suppose they could keep fighting but of course it could be futile so probably closing and re-applying in 30 days is the best approach. Good luck OP in getting approved again in 30 days!
