Just wondering what the hardest credit card is to get approved if someone has a top credit score of credit cards which have an open application process rather than being invitation only. Are there any which are way more difficult to be approved for?

Adding to @Anonymous's comments, it's all relative depending on the type of product, geo-restrictions, lender selectiveness/UW policy, and where your profile stands.
I have the UNFCU Elite and it was probably the longest UW process I've dealt with in a long time. Well-worth it in the long run for me. There are other FIs that have much tighter UW requirements such as Iberia Bank or First Tech, for instance.
Then again, all things considered, there are folks try their hardest to place themselves on the map for the Centurion personal card ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
The irony is that I worked for the UN in New York and never considered joining the credit union. Back then I didn't think about credit, and to me a credit union was several steps down from a bank. But I'd love to get their Elite Visa for the true chip and pin feature; I'm a member now but I haven't applied for a card because of they make the process so onerous.

Centurion is invitation only so that's one card. Another couple I've heard/seen - JP Morgan Chase Palladium Visa/Reserve Card, Citi Chairman Card, Dubai First Royale MC, and Visa Infinite Card. A lot of these cards require very high spending and usually high-net worth as well.
Are all those card genuinely "open application?"
Is there a stand alone Visa Infinite Card? I do have Visa Infinite but it's through JP Morgan (Ritz).
