Hi,
I paid off my amex hilton in full. Previous to paying it off it wasn't showing that I was eligible for a CLI. After paying it off, it showed the page to request my new credit limit. It's been less than 181 days. Should I request a cli or still wait till the 6 months is up?
Would this be your first CLI?

No third. Went from $2,000 to $6,000 to $18,000!
Then I would wait until 181 days, because if you try early (and it allows you) and you're denied for credit-related reasons, you'll have to wait 91 days to try again.

Although I have been able to request and successfully get CLIs early, ie., much shorter than 181 days between requests, I don't want to press my luck and I think I was one of the lucky ones. I was able to get 3 CLIs across 2 cards over a 9 month period but I'm very hesitant this time around. It appears I'm eligible again but it's only been about 4 months since last time. Considering my credit scores are about 30 points less than the 3 previous times, I'm gonna wait it out. Till end of year. I don't want to add an additional 91 days as @OmarGB9 @mentions. Will just wait till scores get better and then also, be at that 6 month mark. Though I was tempted to try 😅😅
@OmarGB9 Thats what got me, even though my account will be 6 months old in 2 weeks, i still have to wait out the 91 days from the date of the CLI denial ?

If denied for credit-related reasons, yes.
