I've had my Diner's (Premier & Elite) sicne November 2014. I tried for a CLI upon activation which was denied and then applied for Elite and was approved. Haven't tried for a CLI again out of fear that they may want to close one of my cards seeing how they stopped taking applications.

I have both but they're not even 12 months old. Now for me, the combined $50,000 works just fine (they're twins ). Yet, I have no need to request any CLIs on them since they're pretty self sufficient (and hidden TLs as well). IMO, I would leave them alone unless you REALLY, ABSOLUTELY, need to have higher CLs (moot point if they don't report or unless you need for extra purchasing power without affecting reportable utilization). IIRC, they'll perform a throrough review (again) and you can risk losing one (remember your new accounts!)

You are correct FinStar. I have twins at $15,000. I don't need CLI's either, just trying to grow where I can. I won't ask for CLI with Diner's I was just seeing how the prospects might look. You confirm what I already thought. I do know that the regular CSR's can go up to 15k but anything over that requires a senion analyst with Diner's.

Correct, Do you remember one of the forum members...CenturionKing (I believe?). Requested a CLI on one of his/her Diners cards (can't remember which one - Elite or Premier). Well, anyway, after they performed their diligent review, one account got closed. I wouldn't poke the bear. Just my .02c.

Totally agree with you. I haven't put much on my Diner's cards since getting them. Maybe a couple hundred dollars. Just enough to show activity.

Growing a hidden TL isn't going to help overall reported utilization, sez Captain Obvious
Enjoy the two lines and max them out if you want.

Thanks but I don't need help with utilization. As Ziggy says, I'm good on that front. My quest is just to get as much as I can.

OK, in answer to your original question, I doubt anyone has gotten a CLI except maybe during the Sept-Oct 2014 frenzy on a recon call. You are more likely to have a card pulled away to lose the CL than get any sort of CLI.

Agreed.

I suppose we can all agree that we have a decent "piece" of lending history (ala BMO/Diners Club) that won't repeat itself for a long while (there are still folks hoping they reopen their doors!). Considering how long they were absent from the credit arena (applications-wise), it certainly came and went *poof* in less than 2 months.
