Hi, I opened an Amex BCE and Chase Amazon account back in may. Have used the Amazon one quite often, more than the Amex one, today when I logged into my Amex account upon checking their cards prequalification page it shows me I am prequalified for every card when I click the apply button, also on my chase account when I go to "open a new account" page it shows there's no offers for me but upon checking the pre-qualification page it say then I am pre-approved for the chase sapphire and flex.
my questions: I am thinking about the Amex delta gold, will that be a SP since I already have an account with them?
second question, I am at 5/24 and I know chase denies you unless you're pre-approved? What are the odds? And will chase do a SP or HP?
forgot to mention I requested a CLI on Amex and got the message that they'll mail me within 7 days, is that a red flag for getting denied if I go ahead and apply for another of their cards even though I show pre-approved?
If you plan on flying Delta airlines a lot, then the Gold Delta makes sense for the free check in luggage and free companion ticket.
I fly Delta domestically and use the personal Platinum for lounge access to their Sky Club as well as free flights using MR points.
I am thinking of getting the Delta Plat or Reserve but until international travel opens up, I'll wait...
As for Chase, I'd wait until you get to less than 5/24 before applying - they seem to be the stingiest in terms of new accounts....
They will HP.
Usually it's a SP when you're an existing customer of AMEX, but it's always possible a HP can occur.
Probably a good idea to wait until you are under the 5/24 rule. I don't think the pre-approval always works out from what I've read here.
From what I know of Chase, in-branch preapproval can override 5/24. I don't know if the star/checkmark in your online account can.
Delta Gold offers no companion pass - that's only on the upper Delta cards - Plat and Reserve.
Amex will most likely be a SP but HP is possible.
Preapproval from Chase can override the 5/24. It has worked for me. But there have been reports of being denied as well. Either way it would be a HP.
