Hey everyone!
I burned chase bank back in 2015 with BK7. I've tried countless times to get back with them but it never took.
I applied for the United explorer card due to the traveling I will be doing over the next few years, and it came up declined.
I called RECON, pleaded my case and the guy asked me a bunch of questions. He kept putting me on hold over and over again.
he finally came back and said he submitted everything to an UW and I will hear back within 2 weeks.
just called the app status # and it said I will be notified in writing within 2 weeks.
What do we think? Scores are around 700 and less than 20% utilization.
I don't know but please, please remember there are other travel cards out there!
🧐Unicorns or goal cards present us with the most amount of mental stress.
🙄 Preoccupy your mind with other plans or thoughts of contingency cards yet if this is approved then take you SO out for a surprise evening so they may revel in your joy too!

What did the letter list as a reason for denial? Did it state bankruptcy?
While some people have gotten an approval with Chase with an active BK still on file, it's rare. You filed in 2015 and a chapter 7 stays on for 10 years. Regardless of whether you burned Chase or not, it's a "baddie" and for the most part, Chase doesn't like it on a report.
as an FYI, I filed in 2011, last year mine finally came off and it's wonderful. I burned Chase for a lot and never thought I would get Back. At the end of 2021, when it fell off I tried applying for a Chase Amazon and United but was denied "for too many new accounts opened by you in the past 24 months". It wasn't declined for a past unsatisfactory account.
this month, after finally being under 5/24 I applied, the well spun, BOOM finally approved for the Chase United card.
the only airline cards I got with the Chapter 7 showing was the Citi AA card and Delta Amex. There is light at the end of the tunnel, but you just have to wait it out. I know it's hard. I hope they overlook this for you
