Help Me Decide Please

I would like some suggestions on how to proceed.  I have several CC's that I can do a hard pull for a CLI.  They are:

Navy FCU1$14,400

Citi DC $10,500

Discover $9,500

Which do you think would give me the most CLJ fir the hard pull?

My intent is to get one of the CL's up to $20,000 or better so it can be my go to card for paying everything monthly and PIF each month.'

I also have A BMW Siggy w/$15,000

Marvel MC w/$16,000

DCU $5000

USAA $6000

I am not much interested in Synchrony CLI's in case they decide to send the blue envelope.

My scores are 820 EXP

744 EQ

804 TU

I also have a USAA Secured Card for $1000 and a Visa for $6000.  i have nordstroms, overstock and victorias secret store cards.

I have about 6% UT and most cards have 0 balances.  I have 1 old medical collection on EQ only paid in full (three years old). No other derogs.  AOA is about 4.5 years although my oldest line of credit is over 42 years old and closed. I have no inquiries in the past 6 months.

My question is which cards would you suggest I go with from above to do  the hard pull with to the the largest CLI.  My annual income is $189,000+.

I can't do Chase because of an old providian account (I can't remember if Providian is connected toCase and Capial One or not.) from 16 years ago. Capital one is show qualifiers but they were burned in 2004 so I don't know if they can be trusted. Amex in the same boat. I had some huge issues in he early 2000's but I  sucked it up and cleaned my reports and pay everything on time.

Who should i get to hard pull to try to get the big increase,. I would be happy with $14,000 to $20,000.  I think Navy Citi or Discover..  All three of them were gotten around the same time in November of 2016.

Re: Help Me Decide Please

NFCU will be a soft pull.  Go online and request CLI.  I would be shocked if you didn't get 24k limit.  I went from 6500 to 23k after 91 days of having the card.  They pull Trans Union and my TU was 710 at the time.

Definitely NFCU gives you the biggest bang for the buck.

Re: Help Me Decide Please

I would use it on Citi even if it doesn't yield the most immediate return, you can build on Discover and NFCU with SPs over time, it is much harder with Citi.

Re: Help Me Decide Please

i think for you $20k cli expectation, NFCU has the best chance of getting it. Go for NFCU first.

Re: Help Me Decide Please

If all you have is the one Synch card, I wouldnt be afraid of getting  blue letter, just ask for a $24000 CL

With an 800 TU score, you shouldnt hve much of an issue IMO

>7/2025 All 3 reports 830 - 845(F8) F9s = all 850 but my app finger is still twitching

Re: Help Me Decide Please

I agree that NFCU will probably give the highest CLI, but I disagree that it will for sure be a SP. It could be either. Check out the NFCU CLI and Additional Card thread. Good luck! Smiley Happy

+1

Even right after an AR, NFCU can be either a SP or HP with no way to tell up-front - the CSRs even tell people to expect a HP.

My own NFCU card went from $15.3k to $20k (with a HP), and IMO that would probably be the card with the best chance of getting to $20k, which seems to be @Anonymous's primary objective.

Thanks UncleB. I applied for the CLI on my Go Rewards on 7/25.  They asked for POI the next day. I sent it and have secure messaged them every day since to no avail.  They hard pulled TU. It's now the 30th and nothing so I apped PenFed on the 28th and got an instant $49,0000 Power Cash card approval.  .  I kind of wish it was NFCU but I'll take what I can get. PenFed got the worm. My thoughts and the advice I received seemed like NFCU would be the most likely to give me the CL I desired but they didn't feel the same way apparently.  You just never know until you try.
