I have a thin file and I've been gardening for about 5 months. My goal is to be approved for a decent SL for a CSP.
How should I play this?
730 Ex, not certain on Tu and Eq but probably a few points higher (because I have 3 inqs on Ex but 0 on Tu and Eq)
I have looked into going the PRG route but I feel like Chase is the best fit, even though I could jump out of the garden with Amex today—but with chase I will have to play my cards right.
At a minimum, I think I need to wait until my newest card (Chase Amazon) hits 6 months.
No prequals, and I don't expect to be prequaled because I never get chase prequals. I have a decade long banking relationship and my first card was with chase for CFU
AAoA is only 9 months.
If I garden for:
A) 1 month my newest card is at 6 months and I can probably CLI my Amex BCE (currently 6k, potentially up to 18k) at that time
B) 3 months my AAoA hits 1 year
C) 10 months my oldest card (CFU) hits 2 years
My feeling is chase doesn't like me much, while amex would approve me for anything I want.
I do feel like I could apply to CSP today and get approved on recon, but probably with a 5k SL and I would prefer to get instantly approved for 10k+
Income is 80k
How should I play this? Of course, the longer I garden the better my chances, but it would be nice to have the CSP in my wallet tomorrow!
Depending on how soon you would like to have the CSP option B is your best bet. You ge the 1 yr AAoA that Chase likes and assuming you get the full request from your 3X CLI with AMEX you'll have a high limit that Chase would theotricially like to match to. And I know you said you've prequaled but considering your banking relationship are you getting no offers from the website or have you gone to a branch office to check with them? Seems weird you wouldn't get any.

I went into a branch a couple weeks ago and banker said no offers. She said I could be approved anyway, but she would prefer to wait to get the offer. I agree that waiting 3 months is a good bet because I get the 1 year AAoA plus a cli opportunity on my Amex. I just know that Chase is a mystery and they don't seem to like me much

I don't think the lack of offers should deter you from applying. There are plenty of datapoints of people who don't get anything on the prequalification page still getting nice approvals.

Your biggest scoring bump is going to come from Amazon (AoYA), along with the inquiry you took for the app, hitting the 1 year mark. Option 4 is to wait 7 months with 1 year+ on AAoA and 2 cycles to work on your Amex CLIs. Chase requires HP for future CLI requests so it's best to start with a good SL, I believe option 4 gives you the best chance, you certain have the income to support it.
That's an interesting idea.
7 months takes me to AAoA of 1.4 years and AoOA of 1.75 years. If Amex gives me something like 10-18k CLI, I'll have 5-6 months of payment history on a 5 figure credit line.
With no inqs or new accounts my FICO probably climbs to 750 maybe higher
Could I app the CSR at that point??

Yes, because by that time assuming the full 3X CLI you'll show experience with a $10k+ credit card that the CSR will be and Chase like prior handling of large lines before approving CSR cards. That to go along with the increased AAoA and income I think you'll sit solid for that if you choose to.
Seems like I have a good shot at CSP after 3 months, or, if I decide to garden for 7 months I could come away with CSR
