Help with applying for Paypal Extras, or Smart connect.

So back in June was approved for paypal smart connect 750 sl. Didn't know it was a CC app because it only asked for last 4 until I immediately got a notification. OK. But after googling I found out it doesn't report limit or balance so I closed it immediately. It is still showing on my paypal as closed when I go to apply for the Paypal card how do I get this cleared to reapply?

It appears there's some confusion on the product you applied for versus what you "googled".  PayPal SmartConnect (PPSC) does report to the CRAs and it's issued by Synchrony Bank whereas PayPal Credit (formerly BillMeLater) is issued by Comenity Capital Bank (CCB) and is typically the "hidden" tradeline.

However, if you are applying for any other Synchrony PayPal-related products (eBay MC or PayPal Extras MC) that would be linked to the same email account you had for the other PayPal (closed) product, it will not work until you have the (closed) credit account de-linked from the profile.  You would need to engage PayPal C/S for them to look into it.

I had a similar issue last year.  I had Paypal Credit attached to my account.  It was eventually closed but remained attached to my account.  I called Paypal who referred me to the creditor, who referred me to Paypal, who again referred me to the creditor.  I went back and forth for quite a while - but eventually did get it removed.  Unfortunately, it didn't help the original problem.  Even now, when I try to apply for either one again, its an auto denial - even though they hard pull every time.  The letters say I already have an account.

It was very irritating for a while - but eventually I just gave up and decided to use the cards I already have instead...
