Wondering if anyone has gotten a high-limit credit card and/or personal loan with the following situation, or has input on the following:
Great credit, except for a joint mortgage account with 2 back to back 30 day lates from 4 years ago. Scores are high 700's. High income, one active credit card w/ ~15k limit with less than 30% utilization (recently.)
Probably going to try a local credit union, but, looking for suggestions as well.
Probably won't hurt you too much, but that also depends on your definition of "high". I think after four years though your limit will be more dependent on income and overall profile than anything else.
I think most folks would consider your $15k a high credit limit.
I think high is a relative term, to some it's 5k and others it could be 50k. Navy if you're eligible is known for pretty generous 2nd cards. My first card with chase was the sapphire preferred and it's SL was 18.7k and had no prior relationship with them other than being an AU. Penfed is another one that has been pretty generous for me along with US Bank but I use their cards a lot & they all have a purpose that suits me.
