Hmph. Was approved for Amex BCE at $7500 a couple months ago with a 5 yr. BK7 on file. Run about $4k through it thus far, PIF each statement. Checked scores earlier this evening, EX FICO08 at 736, Amex SP'd on 05/09 - thought I'd give the PRG a go for the 50k points. Denied, citing BK on record. Those turds. Given the very few successful recons I've come across with regards to Amex, is it even worth my time to reach out to them?
AMEX is usually not very recon friendly. But it's always worth a shot.
Amex does not recon... Sorry for the denial.. I'd give it some time before trying again.
when i applied for the gold and green i was denied ... in that same week i got my collection removed via a dispute and my scores jumped over 100 points, i called and asked for a recon which they did a new pull but i was approved. ( all this to say if you are going to recon there better be a good change)
but like you said if you are in with amex already it should be no problem.
maybe they are limiting their exposure
Good luck

I would recon this. YOu can absolutely recon them. Call the EO, and explain, and tell them you have the BCE already. Seriously...They will reconsider it, I cant garanutee an approval, but the EO will send over to the UW with the reconsideration that you already have a card in good standing. They may want want you to have your current card for a year first, Never waste a HP, always try and recon! Good luck
Frankly, if I were you, I'd just be happy I got approved for a $7500 BCE with a bankruptcy that's only 5 years old.
X2. You could recon and they close they other citing the bk. STHH.
