Home Depot Recon? (moved)

Moved from Credit Card Approvals:

My HD application was denied and I tried to recon right away. I got the whole "wait for the letter" speech.  Now I have the letter and the reasons listed are too many new accounts in the last 6 months and high utilization (I'm only at 13%).  Can I call again and try another recon or would it be better to wait a couple months before giving it another shot?  I really really want to garden but I also really want this card (just bought a house and need some goodies for the new place).  Advice appreciated!

Home Depot Recon?

EDIT: I just realized that I posted this in the wrong forum.  It's now reposted in Credit Card Applications.  Thanks!

Congrats on the new house.  Have you considered applying for Lowes?  If Citi turned you down on initial recon, it might be better to wait to reapply with them.  I have had Lowes since April and am now at $10k (started at $500).  Until I can get my TU score to 700, I know there isn't any point asking for $15K which will be my next goal, but that won't be till next summer when I need to replace my central air unit.

I was thinking about trying Lowe's but I prefer HD's products and there are more locations closer to us.  I also had my eye on the HD Project Loan but I haven't heard too much about it from others who ventured down that path.  Maybe it's best if I sit tight for a few months before revving the engines again and giving this another go.

I have a Home Depot card and I hate dealing with citi. They hard pull you for every CLI request. I would go with Lowe's if you can.

Nice to see a friendly face here!  Smiley Happy  I've heard that more than once but HD is closer to us and there are certain tool brands they carry that my husband prefers.  The HD Project Loan caught my eye too but I haven't heard too much about it on the boards  which makes me a tad nervous.
