Hotel credit cards

Kinda researching on applying for a solid hotel credit card.

Forget redemption as most of my swipes will be on my CSP save for the sign up swipes for the bonus.

Which hotel card has the best annual anniversary?

Re: Hotel credit cards

Current would say Hilton Aspire don't see that card making it two years without major changes. Right now very few exclusions.

Yeah I have the Aspire Amex and it is a great card for me so far, the annual fee 450 is high but what you get back offsets that if you use it correctly.  Diamond status babyyyyyyyyyy anyway have fun folks.

+1 ^ hilton all the way.  My wife will be upgrading soon, so many benefits that beat the $450 AF.

Re: Hotel credit cards

Don’t you guys think that the Hilton points are a little inflated though?

Re: Hotel credit cards

Ehh point value and anniversary night value two separate things. That anniversary night can be 400+ a night if used at a waldorf.

Re: Hotel credit cards

In the first year its hard to beat Venture right now.  First year AF waived and 50K mile sub and 10x miles when you book hotels through Hotels.com

At least for the first year I don't see anyone beating that.

Re: Hotel credit cards

I just got my Hilton Ascend and its probably the best credit card Ive every had in my life based on my spend. They started me with a 1k SL, which I thought was comical, but it was approved so that works for me. 6x bonus points on gas, restaurants, and groceries for a 95 buck AF is pretty sweet. Factor in that it also gives you gold status at Hilton, SPG, and Marriott hotels and this card is astonishing! Gold at the Landover Hilton gave us free breakfast for two at 30 bucks for breakfast. a 3 night stay paid for the AF in perks alone. That was 90 bucks in free breakfst on that one stay. If that doesnt tell you its a great card, factor in that it gives you 10 Priority Pass lounge visits a year, for free. Thats worth 270 bucks value by itself if one used all 10 passes. It also gives 12x points on Hilton properties that are on top of any other bonus that you may have in the Hilton Honors program. This ard is a home run. I dont know of any other card giving lounge access for 95 bucks a year. Its made my Platinum almost dispensable, if it werent for the new Centurion lounge being built next year in Denver.

Re: Hotel credit cards

I can see how you'd say that. I have the Venture and its pretty sweet with the 10x through Hotels.com for hotels only. However, the Hilton Ascend is 12x bonus points at Hilton properties. Then it gives 6x on restaurants, gas and groceries while giving lounge access and gold status at Hilton, which SPG will also match, as well as Marriott. For my money and I have both cards, the Ascend is the better card. If you utilize Hilton then at all then it blows away Venture as it gives 3x points on everything else not covered in the above catgories. Though they started the limit low, its become my go to card. 2k spend in 90 days to get 75k points at signup? Another 25k points with an additional spend within 6 months for 100k bonus? This card is about the best card in the Preferred ($95-$195) range that I see. It kicks my Ventures butt in terms of signup bonus, ability to earn rewards, bonus categories, etc. Its just a better card imo. The Venture is a great 2% card but it comes up short compared to the Ascend.
