Tried Discover pre-qual and it offered the light blue Discover and the Discover Chrome. Are their SLs fairly good?
In general, they are not as good as Amex as far as giving a starting line, but it's possible to raise it over time and end up with pretty good limits. You would just need some patience.
In my experience Discover initally was far more generous than Amex. Discover gave me a $10,000 SL when Amex only gave me a $500 SL and "credit steps" terms for the BCE. I apped for the two cards three days apart so essentially they were using the same FICO scores. YMMV.
I just appplied for a BCE, instant approval $2k, then went to Discover Instant for $1200, then I went to Chase Slate, instant $4800, topped it off with a Barclay Arrival for $2500. Done for another year.

My recent details below for Amex BCE:
Pre Qual: No offers
Status: Cold app approved
SL: $1000
CRA pulled: EX
Score pulled: 673
I do have a question though. So I go to the CC offer tab when I'm logged in, I don't see any pre-qual offers but as soon as I hit apply it says I'm pre-approved. Does that mean anything or are they just trying to rope me in???
Below is what it says:
"We have used information about you and/or your business on file with American Express to extend this offer to you. This offer is based on the accuracy of that information. Information that we have on file will be used for the application associated with this offer. We will only request additional information that we require from you at this time. If you desire to change any information we have on file, you may do so by calling the number on the back of your Card, however, you may no longer be eligible for this offer."

Wow, congratulations!! Barclays is tempting me with that Uber card and the 4% rewards on dining out. So close to trying...
Is BCP harder to get than BCE?

They seem to be the same. I bet Amex would rather give you the BCP, because of the AF. If you have no relationship with Amex, get the BCE first, and then get the BCP with a SP after 6 statements. The SL on the BCP is huge when you do that, IME.
