Hello again everyone!
I was wondering how long you have to wait between applications for AMEX. I opened the Blue Cash Everyday card about 28 days ago (still hasn't reported), but I was looking at their cards and would REALLY like to apply for the Blue Cash Preffered. I tried applying yesterday, but they gave me an instant denial, stating my account was not eligible at this time. It wasn't a hard pull, so I'm thankful for that. I have enough hard pulls from buying my car on Saturday and I'm still getting hard pulls from the dealership!
Also, do they require you to have better credit scores for that type of card? Mine are in the higher 600's, so I'm guessing I wouldn't really qualify. I've checked the pre-qual site a few times and nothing comes up. I think it's best that I let all these new cards I have settle first. I was approved for like 7 new cards last month, so I think it's a good time to stop...
But I would still like to know how long you have to wait between applications. I see plenty of people on here with multiple AMEX cards, or Cap 1 cards, so I'm just wondering how people go about getting multiple cards from the same credit card company.
I like to wait a minimum of 3 months before applying for a card from the same bank. I have no time frame for applying for two cards from separate banks. I applied for the Amex Gold and Chase Sapphire Preferred a week apart back in January.

I'd say 3 months is a good amount of time. That way, you can show responsible payment history/usage with the card for those months. I'm hoping my credit will increase a little more by then as well. I took a little bit of a hit due to all my accounts reporting a balance (all really small balances), but I didn't know Synchrony was going to report so quickly. I hadn't even had my cards for 30 days before they reported! I've paid everything to $0, so I'm just waiting for that to update. Now that I know the reporting dates, I can keep track of what cards to use and when to pay them off by.
90 days

Amex typically does not report a new account until two statement cuts so depending on the Statement Close date it can sometimes be more than two months before they report.
Given that you stated your scores were in the "higher 600s", its quite likely that you got a "toy" limit on your BCE or you were placed in Amex's version of "credit steps." So its highly unlikely they will approve another card until your Experian score exceeds 670 which is the threshold between "subprime" and Good credit scores. If you were approved for 7 cards and bought a car your scores will drop for the next few months due to the inquiries and new account(s) penalty caused by lowering your Average Age of Accounts and resetting your Age of Youngest Account to 0. So it seems to me that it will be a while before your score climbs above 670; probably much longer than 90 days.
People with multiple Amex cards usually have the credit profile, credit scores, and income to enable those approvals.
And by waiting to apply, you will be established with them and you can then see cards you are preappoved for and it will be a SP
Apply today. The BCE and BCP should have the same qualifications. So if they approve you for one they should approve you for the other. I got my first 4 Amex cards in a 2 month period. 2 Charge and 2 Credit cards. You can only get 2 credit cards in 90 days. But since you only have one you can get another fine today.

The OP applied for the BCP yesterday and got an instant denial. If you look at her signature her current Amex has a $500 credit limit so she is in Amex's version of "credit steps." That means it is very unlikely that they will approve her for another credit card for the next few months.

What about the amex everydays? And won't there be another hp if there's no pre-approval?
