Now I'd like to know how many of the denials were from people who actually had preapprovals from Capital Ones website?  That would be pretty interesting to see how many of those prequals actually were an approval and how many ended up in a denial.

I don't remember anyone in the threads this weekend saying they had a prequal and got denied.

It's just a curiosity on my behalf since I know that Capital One isn't handing out a 100% approvals.  Slowly the denials are rolling in.  This made me ponder how many had possibly checked for prequalifications and perhaps that gave them the added ammo to apply.

FICO scores are your calling card to the business world. Build a negative reputation and those doors are hard to open, find that perfect balance of credit responsibility and those doors open when you desire them.

I am curious too, in fact it is one of the reasons I didn' app when I first checked for my own prequalifications (but did eventually and was approved).  I just haven't noted anyone saying this was the case yet.

Good thread!  All of these approvals everywhere you look on here, this may make people think twice in that it is NOT just a slam dunk to get this card and it may not be time to app!

Instant denial, same with VentureOne card last month, had them do a manual review.

Yeah, I've seen maybe 4 but I was just thinking there have to be way more people getting denied. I think this may have just been the right people applying for the right card more than anything.

Don't think I'm gonna bite. I have a bad feeling LOL

If you wan't it still say a year from now it will still be there... people just wanted it for the bigger CL's that have borderline sup/prime credit...  It by far isn't the best rewards card by any means... PC'ing it to the QS is an option though after 6 months?

well I agree on this. for higher limits. but honestly. i would take a credit one for a 20k limit. Smiley Very Happy

I'd never take a Credit One even if they offered $50k on it. It's still a gross pig I would never touch and recently my mom got one of those $300 Credit One cards and I tried to tell her how crappy the card is. My sister got it for her basically.

@popa,

They should be listening to you if they see how far you have come.
