How accurate are Discover pre-approvals

Hello FICO Forums,

I've attempted to to the pre-approval form on the discover website for the last year and for the first time it's showing the Discover IT Cashback Card. How accurate are those pre-approvals?

Usually pretty solid. What APR did it show you?

0% for the first year then 20.99%

So the highest is 22.99%. While what they offered you is far from spectacular, even for a rewards card, I still see it as a good sign that they didn't hit you with their upper limit on the APR. JMO. Good luck if you go for it!

It's pretty accurate unless you've burned them in the past.

Disco prequals are about as close to a sure thing as you can get. Nothing is ever guaranteed, of course, but I would be surprised if you weren't approved.

I got the Discover card in 2018 on a preapproved offer through the mail.   I don't know what my credit score was because I only used debit cards at the time.   I was instantaly approved for $10,000.   It's now up to $12,000.   Go for it!
