How can I make Sync happy?

I want the Walmart card for the free FICO scores.   I have not yet applied. My CK score is about 640.

A few months ago, I got a preapproval for Old Navy, but I got denied.  The letter said they couldn't verify my income.  Then last month I got a message to call, then on the phone was told the system denied me for Amazon.  This was before I knew about this forum and knew both were Sync.  My husband got approved for Amazon with lower scores.

My income is all through my husband, but in Texas that counts.  Our income is more than sufficient. Is there any way to get Sync to understand that? I believe they don't do recons so can I never get a Sync card?  I have a really old JCPenny card that was closed for not using it and it is about to fall off.  It was closed with a zero balance, though.

Have you considered being an authorized user on your husband's account?

I would not keep trying and failing because it adds failed inquiries. fuel cards tend to let you in quicker than retail store cards. Texaco/ Chevron and Bp, 76/66 Phillips are some synchrony gas Cards. You should all also try to get a real FICO score and see if they're bad marks that are hiding that are making your score low

Amazon doesn't do authorized users, but I assume Walmart will.  Will that give me a free Fico score though?

I agree about not trying and failing. I want to be pretty sure I'll get approved before I apply.   There are definitely bad marks on my real FICO.  They are all over a year old and paid off, though.  I don't believe there's anything I can do to improve them other than wait.

I did have a Macy's charge off that just fell off my report after 7 years. That's not Sync, though, I think?

Somehow I missed the information that my discover card gives me a free transunion FICO score, so I'll just skip walmart.  Thank you for the help!

My friend had this problem, on their credit file as employer is had "none" as was denied. He actually had to go and put his employer in his personal information and update his CR and then he got approved. I dont know if its so much as an income verification or employment verification.

How do I add an employer to the personal information with the credit bureaus?
