Are they automatic or do you have to request one?
History is:
No lates on anything since rebuilding began (2 years ago)
Mostly PIF or big payments (usually $200+)
Was in credit steps and got first automatic increase at 6 months
One year anniversary with Cap 1 is this September
Reports have improved significantly since opening cards
Thanks
Nothing is certain in the credit world - that's the first caveat to remember.
Capital One, not unlike a number of other lenders, seems to like heavy usage and large payments. You mentioned that you do make large payments; how has your usage level been?
From your signature, your score may be a bit low for a CLI, but certainly it sounds as if you have a good history with Capital One, so give it a try.
You will need to request a CLI via using the button, and you will want to ensure it is 6 full months since the last request prior to asking for one. Good luck!
Other than my credit steps increase, both of my increases have been initiated by me. One at about the 4 month mark for $5,000, then around the 1 year mark for an additional $1,500. I would say hit the request increase button and see what they say. It's an SP.
500 initial after 6 months it went to 3000 after 10 months i did a Manual Request and it went to 5300. I have the QS1

Sometimes they give auto CLI's at 6 month intervals.
Sometimes they don't but will give you a luv button CLI.
They seem to not give CLI's if you've had one within 6 months.
TJHUNT....How did you get your scores to incrrase so quick?
Thanks in advance

I've had the worst luck with Capital One where I know others have done pretty well with them with respect to CLIs.
I requested and received CLIs on my QS at both the 6 month and 1 year mark, but they were both for only $500 each. My scores are in the 730's, and I'm due to request my 3rd CLI this coming October when I will have had the card for 1.5 years. Unless I get a hearty CLI on my next request (3rd time being the charm?) I'll likely dump the card as every card I've picked up since then has had a SL between 2-3.5X my Capital One limit. For the first year (the time of those two $500 CLIs) I was putting on average $1000 through the card every month; it was my daily driver so it saw plenty of usage with 25+ swipes each cycle. I always PIF or at most left a 2-digit balance. Basically, I don't believe there was anything more I could have done to be a "better" customer and all I got to show for it was a pair of $500 CLIs.
I've since dropped my usage of the card significantly to a couple of swipes, under $100 of transactions per month as I'm using my other cards. Not sure with my next CLI request on Capital One if they'll finally pony up in an attempt to "compete" for my business with the newer cards or what. My original plan was to show their card heavy usage again for at least 1, if not 2 cycles prior to requesting my next CLI by putting $2k/mo through it once or twice, but I may not bother the more I think about it.
