That could very well be...I never app'd for the Venture...didn't want the annual fee and I already had 2 QS's...

So which one is harder to get? I think it's the Venture with a $59 AF and better rewards structure. Cap 1 lists excellent credit as -
Do BOTH of these describe you?
I have never declared bankruptcy or defaulted on a loan. I have not been more than 60 days late on any credit card, medical bill, or loan in the last year.
- AND -
I have had a loan or credit card for 3 years or more with a credit limit above $5,000.
I've defaulted on loans (mortgages) and had a BK (2009) but I have cards that they say require excellent credit. I'm not complaining about that. Just hard to figure out.

> then > that just Makes it Worst! because Venture is higher than Venture One.. But listen.. it's Not You! & Capital One is just being Tempermental with you... & just so you know.. it Makes me laugh when people ask oh who do they pull? & Can you telll me which Credit Report they pull>? & they pull something else (someone ask's who.. i say trans union) & they pull experian! oh well to Bad! When a lender pulls all 3 they get the Whole picture of you, very smart. people will apply to a bank with the hopes of them pulling only 1 lender.. No. things are changing, Capital one is not the 1st to do it.. they do it all the time, Capital one is not a crap bank they are very strange, but Once you have your foot in the door (You Do!) don't push, be easy... be patient & and as for the Annual fee everyone is diff: i'll pay the fee! to have a Venture i'll pay $395 for the Black card You are diff: than everyone else & when you listen to people & they put so much stuff in your head! Capital one is giving you a hard time rite now!.. you have plenty of cards to use... Use the Capital one card.. put spend on it! & pay! watch what happens keep using & paying & checking the pre-Qualifier.. When it comes up Apply! You have to check every day! Make it a game!

Have high expectations!

My thoughts exactly. My Ch. 13 is post 2.5 years and I've got a QS Visa and (2) VentureOne cards and they both say that they require excellent credit. And I've had all of them for a little while now and my Ch.13 was (and still is according to some lenders) fresh. I never got the prequal to pop for the VentureOne cards or the QS Visa...it would only show me the QS1...I just took a chance on apping for the V1's and it worked. Now I will say that I did have my QS1 and PlayStation Visa for almost a year before I app'd for the others.

I did that after reading this thread last night. It said I could get either one. Temping. Not that I need it but the rewards would be nice. I'd hope for at starting CL of $10K plus if I go for it. Still trying to get the combination link to work so I can roll my Venure One limit into my QS.

So not a very high barrier (e.g. you can have 30 day lates this year, or older 60+ lates)
I would wonder if the last reason isn't key, they are saying you appear to already have enough credit.
Cap One is tightening up again.

Good luck!
This number no longer works, only goes to customer service. You need a pin. I have one, but I will not be calling until it's crunch time (April).
