How come I can't get a prequel on Cap1 site?

Everyone here whether they have better scores, lower scores, no history, bad history or bankruptcy get approved with prequal! What am i missing here? lol Now dont get me wrong I have some very nice cards but the only prequal i got was for a QS1 with 500! I have had my Sony card for 17 months but I never get a prequal for the good ones!

All I can tell you is that no prequal doesn't mean you can't get the card. My wife was not preapproved and applied anyway, got the 5-7 day message and ended up getting a Venture with a $20k limit in the mail. I was not preapproved either, but applied and got instant approvals for the Venture for $15K and the Venture 1 for $7.5k

Did you apply/get a Capital One card in the last 30 days, or did you ever opt-out of pre-screened offers? Those are the only reasons I can think of. I do know Cap 1 loves heavy usage and large payments on their cards, perhaps you can try doing that for a month or two with your Sony card (or a different one if you have another one to use).

I am almost certain they softpull EQ for the preapproval so that might be impacting you as well. The HP will be all three so you'll likely be fine. I'd try for the venture. And remember you can usually piggyback a second app on the same HP if you get it filled out within a few minutes of the first. Makes that triple pull more bearable.

I don't have any experience with the Sony card, so hopefully someone who does will comment here. Have you tried to get a CLI on that card yet? How long have you had it?

didn't the sony card just get nerfed as well?  being dining I believe.. Sony card won't grow near as quick as venture/qs or as big.
