Look at the applications area of this site and then back door numbers, listed by bank. Then, call and say something to the tune of, "hello, I applied for credit card XYZ and see my application was turned down. I was hoping we could review it together and reconsider it for approval".
They will pull up your app and review the reason(s) the app was declined and usually ask you about those reasons (like opening too many accounts, or about a high balance on one card, etc).
Be honest and professional and hopefully it will work out for you. Always recon. Worst thing that happens is they say no. You can also ask for advice to see what the bank likes to see. Some underwriters are more forthcoming with willingness to get you approved and offer help. Good luck!
