Hello. I'm thinking of applying for a C1 VX. I have a slim rebuilding credit profile with a paid off loan and a C1 Walmart opened in Oct 2023. My WM started at $300 and auto increased to $800 at 5 months to my surprise.
My fico 8 scores are currently EX-725, EQ-711, and TU-736. No collections for over 5 years and never filed bankruptcy. Income is mid $70k.
Would I have good odds? Should I wait to check pre-approval for Venture X until my WM (soon to be Quicksilver) is a year? Will the hard inquiry hurt?
Any advice is appreciated.

no harm in trying the pre-approval link, the pre-approval is a soft pull, no hard credit inquiry unless you continue with a full application after the pre-approval: https://www.capitalone.com/credit-cards/preapprove/venture-x/
personally feel it will come back with a denial and point out the limited credit history
also consider trying this pre-approval link that checks for VX, Venture and Savor One

I think your odds are slim. The Venture X has a minimum starting limit of $10,000 and with your young and very thin profile, I doubt you would qualify. I wouldn't risk the triple pull.
You can try the soft pull preapproval tools (no harm no foul there), but I'm in agreement with what others have said. While Capital One is receptive to people with young and thin profiles, given that $10k is the min CL it's not likely to be an approval.
Soooo, I gave it a try with the Venture X pre approval link as like others said it wouldn't hurt. I was pre approved and decided to go for it. I fully understood preapproval does not = approved and the 3 hard pulls, but the long term benefit in 2 or 3 years if approved would be worth it.
Well I was approved! I will make a new post under approvals .
