Does it ever happen automatically? Soft pull CLI button? Anyone know? Or know of a thread? I can't find anything searching. Thanks.
Capital One usually allows a CLI after 6 months. Sometimes they are automatic, if not, you can use button or chat.
I see from your signature that it was opened this month.
Did you receive an email about the credit steps program? What is your Starting limit?
There are several threads on capital one credit steps program, so those would be keywords to search.
This is very much a YMMV thing with Cap One.
If your in credit steps, you gotta follow their rules for 6 statements to get your steps CLI. If you don’t follow them, it resets the clock and/or you don’t get the CLI.
With that said, sometimes you might get a small CLI around 3 to 5 months. If you follow the rules, then you’ll still get the step CLI.
I do suggest you check in with their CSR every so often to ensure your following steps rules. You could easlily expect your steps CLI to be coming and it not happen because you missed a payment by a day. I also take what the CSR say with a grain of salt. Last week I had one rep tell me I would only see an increase of $150 since I received the $100 increase. Not true. Hope this helps you!
My experience was as follows and all were SP.
Initial CL = $1000
After 6 mos auto there was a auto CLI to $2500 (+$1500)
Requested CLI on phone app after 6mos - Increase to $7500 (+$5000)
Requested CLI on phone app after 6mos - Increase to $8250 (+750)
The next request was denied. I had switched to the CSR as a daily card. I am about to request another.
From what I have read here and other forums, this is pretty standard with Cap1 QS
Thanks but I'm still missing something. My sig is corrrect. Cap1 Platimum unsecured and days later converted to Quicksilver through a link via this forum. I didn't receive any email after the unsecured notification. My account online now shows Quicksilver though. I never received anything on credit steps so maybe I'm not in it.
So, is this now being treated like a brand new account and I restart my 6 months before an auto CLI? I guess that's what I'm missing. And if the CLI button appears I shouldn't bother to click it, right? (I just made that mistake 90 days into Discover)
