I got mine a few days back (being my first only my amex, not AU user amex) , but added as an AU on parents AMEX back in 1990 and they found me and added MSD 1990 on my amex profile. Make sense? Basically back in college I had the gold charge card for restraunts and bars I used through college that i had an AU card of.. Ya, im getting old!
You should be getting the 90 date on your card. I beleive they stopped backdating for AU maybe some 5 years ago.
Ya the 1990 date is deffinetly going to show on the card, but more less concerned about the CRA's what will show on that. AMEX already said they are mailing out a new card with the MSD as 1990, even though I havent gotten my first card yet lol.. Might be in the mail today, who knows.
It should say opened 1990 since that's what AMEX is reporting.

My mom was approved for an amex recently... hers goes back to 1989
I opened my first amex in 2007
If she adds me to her amex (she had the MSD date changed to 1989... ) will mine report 1989 or 2007? or 2014?
Read amex takes anywhere from a few days after first statement cut up to 2-3 months for them to report. They are slow compared to Barlcay's etc...
Your MSD will be better then what you would get if she adds you as an AU.. If she did that you don't inerhit her MSD date, but the date you were added as an AU.. So your date of 2007 is better then 2014 obviously.
They reported 2 days after my statement cut on EX, which was only a few days after getting the account. I did let a small balance show.

They reported just before statement cut for me, then updated at statement cut.

Lexi is correct, it will report 2014. If you were the primary it would show the 2007 date.
Well that sucks. If for some miracle it happens differently, I will make sure to take a screen shot of the Credit report, but I am pretty sure Lexi probably knows what she is talking about.

It took TransUnion 4 days to report my Amex as a new account after my first statement cut date and it took 5 days for Experian and Equifax to report after statement cut as well. These are when I received alerts from myFICO's 3 Bureau Credit Monitoring, I don't know if these were the actual dates the Amex reported the account to the CAs.
