How long should I wait to apply for a Quicksilver One?

I turned 18 this year and I applyed for a Frontier Airlines Mastercard, and Delta Amex, I got denied due to lack for credit history etc. I applyed and got approved for a Capital one secured card back in March with a 750 dollar credit line, Since Capital one does not corvert secured cards, and I would like to get a get my 600 dollar deposit back sooner than later. How long should I wait to apply for a Quicksilver one card? My vantage 3.0 credit karma scores are TU: 674 and Equifax: 680

Don't apply for the Quicksilver One. The annual fee isn't worth it. Apply for the Capital One Platinum MasterCard instead, use it for a couple months, and then have it PCd to a regular Quicksilver. The benefits of 1.5% cashback, but without any kind of annual fee. I highly recommend you do not apply for a Chase Freedom. I have been denied twice. Once after about 3 months of history, and again after about 6 months. They really want a full year's worth of history for that. The Discover is something that is easier to get, and arguably one of the best cards out there just because of the customer service. I got my Discover about 2 months after my very first credit card, the Capital One Platinum. My credit history is at about 8 months total, and my Discover it card already has an $11,000 credit limit, and it keeps going up each month. Easily the best card to get early on in my opinon. Good luck!

P.S. Just found out that my buddy whose history is about 15 months old just got his Discover credit limit increased to a whopping $25,000 today. He's only 19 years old. Just another reason to go with Discover.

I agree with Discover it card. But if you want an every day spend card, I think the QS is doable. Don't take my word for it though.. Freedom Unlimited probably not.

Understand though we're all different, some - like myself, Discover it CL goes up very slow.

I have the QS one, and in just 3 months I already have $52 in rewards...well over the annual fee of $39.

The QS is probably okay. Discover isn't bad either actually, if you're able to get it.

PreQual PreQual PreQual! Check them all.... see what you like the most. Your scores are good. I agree with the Discover It... You can prequal there also. But if you really want a Capital One I think you will qualify for the Visa with Quicksilver w/no annual fee. Unless you have some baddies etc. But again prequal.. prequal ... prequal. Keep us posted.

Re: How long should I wait to apply for a Quicksilver One?

DIscover prequal is nonsense. it isnt really a prequal that works. I also wouldnt say dont go for Chase Freedom. Everyone's profile is different. Try their prequal, it works like a true prequal should and is usully spot on. Might be approved, but with a low CL. I started my journey with Discover about 16 months ago. While some grow fast with discover, mine has been slow. They are my lowest CL at the moment but they have been giving me a CLI every month albeit at $500 at a time. I dont usually spend heavy on the card, perhaps this is why.

I think the OP has to be 21 for prequals or is that just cap 1?
