How long until Amex would raise 1k to 5k

I heard after 60 days the strategy should be to increase your limit 3x. Is that usually approved that quicky? And if so how long until they will give you a limit like 5k or higher?

Generally, it's 61 days for the first 3x. Then 181 days for another 3x.
1k -> 3k -> 9k Total 242 days would bring you above 5k.
And that is approved usually on the page.
Assuming you're eligible for it.

Just a word of caution, if you got approved with a $1,000 credit limit there was something they didn't like about your profile. I have seen people stuck on that same credit limit for a long time before even given a single credit limit increase. I have also seen others get their 3x at 61 days. My advice though is not to get discouraged if you do not get your 3x cli at 61 days.

I had no credit history when I applied. The only histroy I had was 6 months as an AU. Amex is my first cc

Agreed.  I applied for the Gold Delta in August of last year with a $1000 starting line.  I have never to this day been able to get this above $1000.  Also approved for the Hilton card few months later.  Same result.  Stuck at $1000.

However, I was approved for the SPG in 12/4/17 and received an increase from $1000 -> $3000.

There is still hope. I have no idea with what I will do with the Hilton and Delta card when their AF's are up this year.  If I can get another CLI on the SPG I may move some to the Hilton and cancel the Delta card.
