How often Amex updates the database for credit score

When you apply for new card from Amex they do a soft for the current card holders. How often the new scores are accessed from the time you apply first time and second time. I have paid siginifcant amounts on my cards and my scores should go up soon. I want to apply for new card from Amex and want to see how often they update the scores.

Re: How often Amex updates the database for credit score

good question - I am in same exact boat

Applied for BCE, and approved with an EXP of 687 back on Feb 23th

My EXP is now 769 (as of March 15th) , and I was thinking about applying for 2nd card

The Amex site does not return a Fico score for me yet - my statement cut on March 24 (applied Feb 23) , but no score yet, so not sure what score a soft pull would return ?

I assumed AMEX updated once a month, but I have heard of folks getting updated more than once a month, and sometimes more than 30 days or more between updates on the site - hopefully someone more experienced can advise

Re: How often Amex updates the database for credit score

The "view your FICO score" on Amex's website updates once a month, usually about a week after your statement closes.

But I think Amex can do SP's on your credit more than once a month if they want.

You said the right word. "If they want". What would make them to decide to otbain the updated scores?

I've heard Amex will SP your account more frequently if you are a relatively new cardmember or if you apply for other credit, but check with others.

You will need to check your report from EX for inquiries.
