How sensitive of new accounts is NFCU?

I ask because I plan to go in the morning and sign up for a membership with NFCU. I do not plan to app for at least 6 months in order to let my accounts age and scores rise a bit.

I'm pretty sure the CSR will try to get me to app any way. lol

My stats are Fico 8

AAoA on TU and EQ is 1.9 to 2.2 yrs. EQ 12 inqs and TU 9

EX= 747

TU= 706

EQ= 692

I've added 19 of the 20 accounts in my signature since June 2015. Two of them haven't reported yet. One baddy on EQ and TU are set to drop off May 2016. At which time, EQ/TU scores should jump considerably. So are they real sensitive of new accounts in your experience? How long should I wait before apping for PLOC or CC? Thanks for any guidance.Smiley Happy

Re: How sensitive of new accounts is NFCU?

ummm, well I've been with them like 1 year 8 months. I got my PLOC about 4 months after I joined which is when I got my Visa Sig CC with them. Can't remember my scores back then but I want to say they were mid to high 500's.

Last month I asked for a CLI on my PLOC & they gave me a $14.5k CLI. At the time my AAoA was like 1.7 years & my newest cards were 2 Cap 1 cards about 7 months old. It took them 2 days to approve me, however most of that I believe was due to a glitch in the system at the time of the app. They wound up pulling my EQ twice over 2 days for that CLI.

Hope that helps a little!

Edit: Thinking about it they've been very good to me over the last 1.5 months! Considering my file is very thin & I consider myself in rebuilding phase still, they've given me $3.5k CLI on my Visa Sig & $14.5k CLI on my PLOC. I doubt I'll be seeing those kinds of CLI's from other companies for awhile perhaps! Smiley Tongue

Thank you for the info! I appreciate you taking the time. They sure seem to be pull happy when it comes to apps. lol

 Congrats on your CLI's!

TU for membership. EQ for products. You don't have to wait to app. You're golden right now. They don't care about new accounts. You will get a 5 figure limit easily. App a card and the LOC for $15k.

Re: How sensitive of new accounts is NFCU?

NFCU does not appear to be the least bit sensitive to new accoounts to INQ's. Just to give you a quick background Everything you see in my signature is new since June of this year. I've added 20+ accounts and started with zero and zero current revolving credit. I opened an account with them and apped the CLOC and CashRewards card. CLOC approved @ 10k and CashRewards @ 14k. Was able to get a second card from them a week later @ 2k. Between then and now I've added 20 new accounts and new lines totaling almost 200k. In Sept after they ran AR I was able to bump both of my cards with them up to 22k. A few days ago when AR ran again I was able to get CLI's again from 22 to 25k on each and also chose to take a HP also and bumped my CLOC to the max of 15k. They have seen all my new accounts and now 20 INQ's on EQ and haven't seemed to mind any of that. Looking over your siggy and what you have and your scores you should be golden if you want to go ahead and app with them. I'd be very very surprised if you didn't do well with them. App the card you want and go ahead and app the CLOC as well for the max of 15k. I would expect you'd see approvals on both.

Re: How sensitive of new accounts is NFCU?

they aren't sensitive and idk what you're waiting for. just app for all you want the day you open it. your scores are good and your inquiries are low... you're WAY over worried. they're a very loose lender you'll be fine and i would be shocked to hell if you didn't get $20k in products with them when you apply tomorrow. ask for $15k for the LOC and app for a CC if you can use it. you'll see...

Re: How sensitive of new accounts is NFCU?

I'm guessing 15k or more if you app for a CC and you should get approved to the full 15k on the CLOC.
