Re: How solid are US Bank Pre-Quals?

Edit: Approved for Cash+ card w/ $1000 SL.

I have an open student loan that is 5y11m old and an old Comenity store card opened in 2005 that was used maybe 2 or 3 times and was closed in 2014 for non- use. Both never missed a payment and are/were in good standing. These are padding my AAoA. But I only have 2 open revolving accounts that are reporting and both are only 2 mos old (a Comenity MC and the Amazon Store card). I also have a Penfed card, Cap 1 card and a Citi DP that are not yet reporting- all established in the last 3 mos.

Inquiries are pretty high: EQ-9, TU- 5, Ex-7 all in the last 3 months. All this flurry of recent activity after my credit basically lying dormant for so many years and lack of revolving account history is spooking creditors out I'm sure. My FICO8s are 729- 788. If I get the US bank card fine, if not, fine also since my goal was to establish 3-5 revolving accounts and let them age. I'm done apping for now either way. I should hear from them in the next day or 2, I'll let you know how it pans out...

Interesting note, the CSR told me on the call yesterday that they are basically manually reviewing all apps that are coming out of my state - Georgia, because it has the highest incidence of identity fraud in the country. Didn't know that, looked it up and it's true. Nice CSR, she thanked me because she said she loved both our main exports: peaches and fraud because it keeps her in a job, lol.

Thank you @Adkins! And apologies to OP if I highjacked the thread a little, but thought it might provide useful, recent DP.

Re: How solid are US Bank Pre-Quals?

Huge congrats on scoring the cc! I’m happy that it worked out for you.
Thanks for sharing all of that too. No apologies necessary, i like hearing credit stories, they are learning experiences could prove valuable one day in my own situation.
Our profiles are very similar.
My student loans are 14 years old, and until this year I haven’t had a cc in 8-9 years.
I have three cards right now...
My oldest card CapOne QS1 is 9 months, Discover Secured 6 months, and CapOne Venture is a little over a month old now.
I plan on app’ing again after 2 more months, and ofcourse when the pre-quals feel right again.
