Yup I went with the Freedom because the 0% for 15 months and cash back bonus definitely sounded better than the limited bells and whistles offer with Slate. I believe it said the apr was like 17% but I could be wrong. Either way I will definitely be paying any balances in full to avoid that interest. I'm super happy to have something nice to plant in my garden now!

I got a message that said they needed me to verify my identity so I called and answered some questions about my Chase checking and savings accounts and.... I was APPROVED!!!! $2000 starting limit. I'm back in prime card land! Woohoo!!

@Anonymous wrote:So when I do decide to pull the trigger, do we like Freedom or Slate better?
Slate is worhtless then a Balance transfer card and a free EX fico.. other then that no rewards.. Freedom is 5% rotating categories being this month it is 5% off restaurants and a few other categories I don't use, last month was 5% off Grocery stores and movies and something else, etc... everything else is 1%.. So if you want rewards then Freedom, if you want a BT card then the slate.. Freedom IMO as it has 15 month 0%apr as well I believe.
Lol we all have that finger.. Least your gamble worked out.. Go for the freedom? What Apr% did you get?
edit: Forgot to say congrats!
Excellent!! You will love the Freedom. Make sure you go the website and sign up for the 5% bonus categories. This quarter it's restaurants. Any food place counts -- fast food and Starbucks included. So put that burger and latte on the Freedom, pif and enjoy those points ![]()
I really am excited because I am doing so much better credit-wise than I was even a month ago. I see they pulled Transunion which was a surprise because I had heard they usually go with Experian. I wonder what my TU score is? I only know the EX because I use their credt tracker. Found it more useful with alerts that myfico monitoring.
Keep an eye on Experian. In my case, the TU pull showed up immediately but it took 3-4 days for the Experian pull to show up. I was kinda bummed, because I was hoping for a single pull, but I love my Freedom and you'll love it too. Their website is so easy to navigate too. Oh, and you can call and ask them to expedite card so you don't lose 2 weeks of 5% bonus spend. And keep an eye on that Discover -- everyone's getting CLIs
I just logged on to view my banking accounts and they've already added the account. I already know when the balance is due even before I have a balance. LOL
I do wish Chase had a miles card. I travel a lot and would have chosen that had it been offered to me. Oh well maybe after I show them love on the Freedom for a while I can find a miles card that wants me in the family.
Oh chase has many travel or what you call miles cards.. Some of the best in the business... Freedom/Chase is awesome combo due to UR points... Can be used for hotels to airline... Transfer to partners such as Marriott/United, etc... Or can be used as cash, but half the value or less if used as cash.
Oh I didn't realize that! I guess I thought they only had the Freedom, Slate or CSP because thats what showed up on their prequal site. I'll definitely keep that in mind. I don't fly united much because I've never liked their service but maybe we can be friends now LOL.

Doesn't have to be united Bristish Airways or any of their partner airlines...A whole different discussion though and can go on for weeks and weeks..
