Ok, a month or so I applied for the Chase Business Marriott card. Got denied. Called in and they still denied me. I posted about how I was approved for the personal CSP card but denied the business marriott. Someone told me I should apply for the personal Marriott, but I was scared that since I just applied for two I'd be immediately denied anyway. So today i check my email and guess what's in there? An invite to apply for the BUSINESS Marriott card. 70K points after $3K spent annual fee waived first year. I think the deal is okay, better than the 80K pts WITH the annual fee. But I like 0% APR cards. I'm not even sure I'd spend the 3K in time but I wanted the card for the free night as I usually only stay at Marriotts.
My question is, what do you think my approval odds would be?
If you just got denied for the card, I wouldn't count on the invite being anything other than marketing.
Thanks everybody. Yeah theyv'e changed a little. Paid off two cards, and paid down all the others. But literally, not enough time has passed to even report that. As far as I can see, I looked like I'm maxed out almost. It's showing 76% UT when it's really 34%. Would've been less than that if I remembered to stop by BOA today.
Email means nothing. unless you got a specific offer with specific terms. just a waste of time. As others said. Has anything changed between now and then from your credit report? if not. waste of time. what happened with the personal marriott. This truly would be your best best. I just apped it 3 weeks ago and go 30 day message. Just waited it out without calling for 10 days and it was approved. just got the card yesterday. just what i wanted. if they deny the business. I say go for the co branded personal. minimum would be visa siggy 5k.
Marriott card is worth it if you can use the free night. Did you ask why they denied you?
(I've heard sometimes Chase makes you sign your name in blood for their business cards)
Quicksilver $10,000 | Better Balance Rewards $2000 | Sallie Mae $3500 | Freedom $3500

Well, the Chase Co-Branded cards, such as the Marriott Business, are a set APR, only one is offered. So the only variables in the terms are: Did you get the card? and what is the CL?
OP - Does this offer have an expiration date? If so you might wait until just before that expiration date to app, if these changes to your file are yet to post.
I think even though chase can surprise and business credit is different, but if you were just declined for the one version. upon recon, they probably would have recomenned you apply for the personal instead if it was a go?
