Denied for BOFA Rewards about 15 months ago due to Ch7 D/C 10/2010 (did not burn them), so i got the $99/$500. Got my refund of $99 at the year mark and CL still $500.
Any thoughts of applying for the Alaska Visa Siggy? I have an email from them since 2/2018:
Earn $100 statement credit, 30k miles and Alaska's famous companion fare (buy one ticket, get one for just taxes and fees) after spending $1k in three months. No Blackout dates.
Ongoing benefits: Get another Alaska's Famous Companion Fare from $121 ($99 + taxes and fees $22) every year. Valid on Alaska and Virgin America. Free checked bag...blah blah.
I have a promo code on the email. What are my chances? BOFA is tough with people who have CH7. Thoughts??
Do you bank with BOA?
If you are going to pull the trigger, Id suggest doing it inbranch. Having the branch manager helps get those close apps across the finish line
And BTW, it takes about 2 months for Amex to report a new account
Good luck

Thank you all! Much appreciated. I do bank with BOA. Currently working on meeting $4k in direct deposits within 3 months for their $300 bonus.
I guess I can go in the branch this weekend for better odds.
Last question, do they use the same HP if I apply online? Say I get approved for the Alaska CC and then want hit the luv button right after for my cash rewards that sits at $500?
They did use the same pull for me. I applied for the Premium Rewards card first, and then I requested the CLI on the 3-2-1 rewards card, which led to the $7.2k CL. Only one inquiry.
I'm not sure if the result would've been different had I requested the CLI first, and then new card app.
If you don't get the signature version because of the SL requirement, I hope you'll get a decent CLI on the other card, and then you could ask them to move CL to meet the signature card requirements. Otherwise, the Alaska card loses a ton of value without the companion ticket.

Hmmm, valid point! I guess i'll have to think about it. I'm not in a rush to request a CLI on the cash rewards card, but do need the Alaska card as that is what we fly to go to Hawaii every year. That annual companion is perfect. Tickets are usually $500+ R/T from San Diego to Kona. The AF is nothing.
Yeah, that's why I keep saying that you gotta make sure you end up with a VS card for the companion ticket. You may not be in a rush for a CLI on the other card, but that could be your backup strategy if the SL on the Alaska card doesn't qualify you for VS. Then you call and ask them if they can move some of that recent CLI to Alaska, and upgrade to VS. Plus, it's on the same HP.
BofA is somewhat BK friendly, but I've had to do a good amount of recon on my cards, CLIs, etc. because of a BK7 2011. The denial reasons always list BK on file. Other reason is "sufficient credit available with BofA and other banks" or something along those lines.
Yeah, when i first applied for the Alaska and Cash Rewards, years ago, i was denied due to Ch7 D/C 10/2010. They counter offered with $99/$500 on cash rewards and after a year, the $99 was refunded.
Didnt bother to recon for Alaska. Thinking they might give me the same excuse this time around for the Alaska card..again lol
