I received this message from Amex after prequal and app...

I'm at 675 with Ex. Did a prequal with Amex and came back preapprove for Cash Magnet, Every Day, and Delta Sky Miles. Got this message after app. Could it be due to the fraud alert or is this a nice way of saying screw you, you didn't get it.

Amex preapprovals are pretty solid. 

When you have a fraud alert though you won't get instant approval, they have to verify your identity.

I tried the "prequalify" and it said I didn't have any offers. However after reading so many peoples experiences here with site I applied anyway. I got approved for Everyday card, the Gold charge card and the blue cash back. I say just call them don't wait, sometimes its just that they need to confirm income info or have more security questions to ask to verify your identity.

I didn't prequal either and got approved for the Amex Delta Blue and Amex Hilton Honors. My Delta Blue card was instant approval for $1k but my Hilton Honors card said in progress. I called and they asked a few verification questions and it was also approved for $1k. So you may just need to call them and verify some things. Usually due to fraud alerts and etc.

I was able to apply. I did both apps, one right after the other. I think I was just lucky though lol.

I applied for the Gold Card, SPG and Delta Gold at the same time and was approved for all. They were all preapproved cards.

Sorry. I forgot to come back and update and the post that I did make was moved to my APPROVED post. Anyway I called and verified my info and was approved for the ED card. After reading you all's post about applying for and getting more than one card I decided to call back and was also approved for the cash magnet. Both $1000 SL. I'm supposed to be gardening but I am now considering going back for the 3rd card I was pre approved for also.

You'll only get approved for a charge card at this point.
