Dropped some baddies off my reports and gained a few points and... voila. Finally got the Chase Freedom and Slate prequal.

I don't know why I torture myself by checking these things... I don't NEED another card or another inquiry. It's just so tempting...

I feel your pain. I check them as well far too often. It's my way of "apping" without really apping

I don't want to be an instigator OP and I realize you're gardening...but how many inquiries do you have? It's just me but I think I would go for,the Freedom and then close the Credit One. Good luck in whatever decision you make!

I am guilty of the same thing. I don't need another card and I am planning to continue to garden for a long time. Prequals just satisfy my want to app.

I too would take that freedom as long as the advertised APR is at least better than the max and close that credit 1 in a second.  Those inquiries don't look too bad as long as your score is accurate.
