If pre qual says pre approved AMEX

Quoted text from another website about how many cards you sign up for at a time with AMEX. The BCP comes up pre approved thru their website and honestly it has a great mix of what I spend on monthly that makes sense.. Im a month into my second card with AMEX.. Does the pre qual bypass the rule like Chase checkmarks do?

Chase and Amex are 2 completely different creatures!!!!!

Amex doesn't bother with the hoops you have to jump through w/ Chase and once you're in and have established some history with them you can snag SP approvals all day long.  There's some around here that go for the max 5 revolvers and then on top of that add a few charge cards to the mix as well.  

If you have a need or can hit a SUB spend on a new account then go for it!  There's no love lost if they deny it since it's a SP and you can try again later on.

The 1/5 rule isn’t hard and fast. I was approved for two cards with them less than 90 min apart in November, and I know of at least one other member who got two cards a few hours apart.

I got an Amex CM 4/4 and just got the Gold 5/21.  You can do 1 charge and 1 credit card back to back but not 2 revolvers.  I was trying to the BCP after the CM but it was immeditately cancelled.  I called them and they verified I could do another charge card but not revolver for 90 days so I got the Gold.

If you already have AMEX, isn’t it a SP for a new card? If so, you have nothing to lose by trying for the BCP.

I was approved a couple days ago for a BCP. I already had a Cash Magnet. No HP. At least not yet.

Unlikely that you’ll get one. Amex seems to be SP the vast majority of times once you’ve been with them for a couple billing cycles. HP is always possible but not likely.

I talked about this in my Gold approval thread since I have had the Zync since 2011. 

I didn't get a SP or HP for the CM (April) or the Gold (6 days ago).   I was expecting a SP.  Of course, YMMV.

There have been exceptions where a person got 2 revolvers on same day. Also hp is very possible. Before my last Amex approval of the Spg/Bonvoy i had 3 Amex cards and one closed Green card. Only hp i received i believe was my initial Green card. Then , i actually got hp'd for the Spg app. I had my reports frozen and Smex sent me a letter saying i needed to unfreeze Ex to continue app. Ymmv always

AJC, I was one of those exceptions - approved for two revolvers within 90 minutes of each other back in November. I only got one HP on EX for it too.
