Hey!
I have a quick question regarding applying for credit application for student cards.
After posting in the forum a year ago and getting sound advice I went ahead and got a secured card. However I am graduating from college in a few months and think its time to graduate that Secured Card - I thinking of playing is safe and getting an unsecured Student Card, since that would be easier to get.
Only problem is, I am not working this semester, though I just signed a full time offer and should start in september. Does anyone have any insigts on the "Income Verification process" for any of the major student cards? Or any other reccomendations?
FYI: FICO is 688 (My utilization for the past 3 months has been >30% due to the holidays and new semester textbooks) otherwise, everything has been well maintained
Thank in advanced!

September is 7 months from now; what are you planning to use to pay your bills? In this case, I would suggest waiting until you have started working for reasons other than if they will verify.
Not to mention, Cap 1 is also known to verify income; not just Amex.
CapOne definiely did income verification for me when I apped for their Journey card last year. It's YMMV on whether a card issuer will want to verify that information or not.
I also send them banking statements and stuff and they also accepted those from what I can remember.
Since you already have secured card that you expect to graduate, I suggest that you start with the student cards offered by discover, cap1, citi, and boa.
Discover and Citi treated me well when I was a young student with little credit history (still a student, no longer that young ).

+1 especially Citi (they dont like INQs much) and Discover is known to like short but clean. but really like lexie said, best thing to do is wait it out until you get your new job, as by that time your BOA will likely have unsecured, and you'll have some forced garden time then youll be in a great position for a spree

So, I have been living at home so I dont really have any expenses/bills/ etc.
I typically use my CC for causual expenses like going out, transportation, and to start building a solid credit file.
My dad does do an ACH transfer every month for about $700, plus i have other relatively liquid assets

You are correct, when I applied for the secured card I had to send in proof, but I worked at the point and could prove my income via paystubs.
I do remember that one of the options were bank statements or tax return
