@jmos That's awesome! I'm excited to be in with them.

@jmos Yes. They all recieved a hard pull although they were denied.

Navy allowed them to use the same hard pull 4 days later to get the secured cards. (Took me 4 days to convince them to get the secured card as a foot in the door)

I'm new to Navy but from all the threads I've read they are great and their cards grow quickly. Some people are able to get another card before the first one graduates.

I didn't see the type of growth everyone talks about, for nearly 2 years. Just barely got a second product with them after being a client for over 2 years and the limit was $3900 despite having super low DTI (0.009%) and above average income ($70k). Couple that with the recent low (for them) CLIs and it would be wise to temper expectations until you see how they view you and your family. It was extremely disappointing and defeating for me and my rebuild.

@Brian_Earl_Spilner Oh man, that sucks. Not sure why you didn't have faster growth.

I think I'm okay they started me within 4k and 8.99% lowest apr (which I hear is a good sign)

As for family they are happy to just have cards. For two this was their only card (after COs) and the other was shocked with his low 500s fico they gave him 1k.

I'll make sure to not "expect" fast growth but be pleasantly surprised if it happens. With my families scores and profiles they would be happy with 1k for a year. Thank you for sharing.

With that limit and apr, I'm sure you'll be fine. It was more for the family members. My score improved over 100 points and they didn't budge. Started with a $500 CR and was pissed because people were graduating from secured cards with $2k limits. Since I've taken them off the pedestal they've been put on, I've been much happier with my experience as the growth has been better than with most of my other lenders. When expectations were brought in line with my other lenders, they've been very good to me, despite taking their sweet time. 😂

@Brian_Earl_Spilner Totally understandable, what you're describing is how I feel about Disco when I see secured cards graduate with a higher limit than my unsecured card. I've tempered my expectations. After a year I'll know if I'm truly bucketed (I think I am) 😂

Don't remind me. I got a whopping $250 increase at graduation on the 22nd month. No CLIs since and they won't approve me for a new card despite my report being cleaner than some people being approved for $3k lines. All I can do is 🙄 and put them on the back burner.

@Brian_Earl_Spilner  yes. I agree with your assessment that the growth with Navy can be slow. They are unpredictable for sure.  I just have to give them their props considering the fact that I started my relationship with NFCU carrying the baggage of a BK7.

No doubt. They can be excellent as long as you don't burn them. At that point, you get the shoulder and silent treatment.

@ItsCASHual Where did you find the Navy pre-qual? Was it on their website or when you were logged into your account?

Here's the link

I always qualify for all their cards, even though I am at the (3) maximumSmiley Tongue

Hi. I utilixed the Navy Pre-Qual yesterday and it indicated that I was prequalified for all cards as well. I apped for the GO Rewards card and I was denied. Now I do have a bk7 from 2017, though . The strange thing is that I still have not seen a hard pull on TU yet.

I am sure it was just a "SP" or a system denial.
