Interested in AMEX Platinum - Soft Pull?

I have the PRG and BCP. Interested in upgrading to Platinum. Is is a SP given that I already have the PRG? Or a HP?

Looking for any advice or experience dealing w AMEX.

My experience:

1. BCE - HP

2. HH - SP

3. EDC - SP

Yes.  It seems that once you are an Amex member, new cards are typically SP.  There are probably some cases where it is HP though.

Lucky you ! I never got SP for any of my cards (have HH, HH Ascend, SPG and Delta Amex Reserve)...

Since the OP asked about upgrading and not a new card.

They will not do a hard pull for upgrades.

New cards are YMMV.

I received a hard pull for my 1st and 2nd Amex and a 3rd application that was denied. My scores were around the 640-650 mark.

My 4th app which is my 3rd Amex was a SP. EX score was 755 at time of app

The Amex EveryDay is my most recent. I got it to keep my MR points active. I will be cancelling the PRG in October. I applied much earlier then I was expecting to since ED had a 25K bonus.

It would be a product change (Amex will see it as an “upgrade” since the new card has a higher annual fee and more benefits)
But the history of the Tradeline will stay intact, and you will retain the original account infomation on your credit report.

Business Platinum - SP

Business Hilton Honors - SP
