Interesting Denial Reason from GS for Apple Card CLI

Has anyone seen this as a reason for denial from GS. It would be interesting to see if others have gotten this reason before.

  • Your TransUnion credit report shows you've made multiple recent applications for credit, which have resulted in hard inquiries on your credit file
  • You have not used and paid enough of your Apple Card credit limit since your last credit limit increase

I have seen the second reason plenty of times so not shocking there. But the first one was surprising.

@1GaDawg85

My recent denial for my card application is better.

"You have recently been late."

Can someone define "recently?"  I haven't had a late payment on anything since 2016.  Smiley LOL

@TRC_WA  Sorry to hear about your denial. Unfortunately Goldman Sachs counts any negative on your credit report as being recent.  I used to get denied for recently being late but the late payment was 5 years old.

Their definition of recently past due differs from the span of time green most people would consider as recently.  Once the late payment fell off my report I stopped getting denied.  Best wishes to you going forward!

@Jordan23ww

Thanks!  I am in the path to apple card thing which says June... and IIRC they pulled TU... which will go clean in June/July with EE of my Ch 13 related baddies from 2016/2017.

That being said... I'm sure I'll be approved in the coming months if I apply.

Before applying, take look at your Chex Systems and Lexis Nexus/SageStream files.
