Re: Is Amex inquiry sensitive on new applications?

I agree, AMEX is not sensitive at all. I got approved for BCE and Everyday with over 20+ inquiries on EX.

Now Citibank on the other hard is very sensitive along with BofA.

How sensative would BofA be to 7 inqs on EX all which are a year old, most 1.5+ years old?

Re: Is Amex inquiry sensitive on new applications?

I went ahead and took the plunge and closed the Bue Cash Everyday and applied for the Hilton Honors Surpass since I already had the SPG previously.  Amex used to say if you had the product in the last 12 months you were not eligible for the signup bonus.  Now Amex said if you've ever had the product, you're not eligible for the signup bonus.  Since I had the SPG (the card I wanted) previously, I opted not to go for it this time.  Anyhow, I didn't get approved.  It just says they'll let me know once they make a decision.  No HP either so it sounds like a denial on a SP.  No harm, no foul.

LOL, yes.  It's unreliable in my case since all my amex apps still show "In Progress" from 2013/2014.  Don't know how that is but that's how they show even though I was approved.  I'm betting this one will be a denial though because no HP on EX.

Re: Is Amex inquiry sensitive on new applications?

Does Amex do instant or internet denials via their application status?

Re: Is Amex inquiry sensitive on new applications?

I suppose it's possible that their system registered me with four cards when I applied because I applied at about 11:30pm Saturday and I didn't receive an email from Amex stating that my BCE closure was processed until 5:00am this morning (Sunday).
